Prayer

Lord God, as we open Your Word today, we ask for more than knowledge—we ask for wisdom. Grant us understanding and clarity by the power of your Holy Spirit. Let these passages not be distant stories but living truth that speaks directly to our hearts. Open our minds to grasp what You are revealing, and shape our lives to walk in obedience to it. May Your Word correct us, comfort us, and guide us today. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

The Old Testament – 1 Chronicles 15:1–16:36

The Ark Brought to Jerusalem, David’s Song of Thanks

David prepares a place for the Ark of God and gathers the Levites to carry it properly, emphasizing obedience to God’s command. With musicians and singers, the Ark is brought into Jerusalem amid great rejoicing. David dances before the Lord, but Michal despises him for it. Once the Ark is placed in the tent, offerings are made, and David appoints worship leaders. He delivers a psalm of thanksgiving, calling all nations to worship the Lord and remember His marvelous works.

The New Testament – Romans 1:18–32

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

Paul describes the wrath of God against a world that has rejected Him. Although God’s divine nature is evident in creation, people have chosen to suppress the truth, leading to idolatry and moral collapse. As they abandon God’s ways, He gives them over to their sinful desires, resulting in widespread corruption, injustice, and relational breakdown.

The Book of Psalms – Psalm 10:1–15

The psalmist laments that the wicked seem to prosper while God appears distant. The arrogant prey on the helpless, and justice seems delayed. Yet the psalm turns with a declaration that God does see evil and will act on behalf of the afflicted. The psalmist pleads for divine intervention against those who oppress the innocent.

The Book of Proverbs – Proverbs 19:6–7

Many seek favor from those with influence, and the poor are often abandoned—even by their own friends. These verses highlight the painful truth of how people tend to value others based on wealth or usefulness rather than worth and dignity.
